Important Dates

September 20 - October 10: Sign-ups. We will not accept applications after October 11 midnight (12:00 AM), Pacific Time. After you sign up, you will receive a validation email from the Yuletart Mods to ensure your email address is correct and operational. You must respond to this email by October 14.
October 11: Any remaining validation emails will be sent by the end of the day.
October 13: Deadline for replying to your validation email. If you do not reply to your validation email before the end of the day, you risk not being included in the fest. Once we receive your reply, we will comment here to your sign-up form letting you know you have been confirmed.
October 20: Assignments handed out no later than this date.

Important Points About Signing Up

• The Set List has now been created. Please specify what your preference is for any umbrella fandoms that have many sub-categories. This will help your gift-giver know what to draw for you.

• For ALL fandoms, please spell out the fandom name rather than using acronyms! THIS INCLUDES BAND NAMES.


• Additionally, remember that the more information you can give in your "special requests" section, the better. This is where you would designate specific characters, ships, etc. More info helps us make more appropriate assignments.


• Remember that Yuletart is about the joy of creating art together, not about who is "best" or "most perfect." You should not only be able to put forth your very best effort, but be able to appreciate the effort of others regardless of their level of skill. We know that "effort" is a very subjective concept, so for our purposes we're defining it as an art or craft that has gone through at least one rough draft, gotten objective advice from a third party, and then edited into a final, more polished work. (Note: Mom and Dad probably aren't going to be objective about your art. If you can't find an objective beta, try artbeta. The artists there are patient, generous and willing to work with all skill levels. You can even ask for one-on-one help via email.)

Specific requests: I'm going to list these for each fandom. Basically I'm going to provide what I like and what I don't like, but go wherever you like with your piece!

Last Airbender: Zuko is my favorite character, Zuko/Aang preferred. I really do not like Azula.

BLEACH: Ishida Uryuu is my favorite character. Ryuuken/Uryuu or Gin/Kira are my favorite pairings. I really do not like Rukia, Momo, or Tousen.

D.Gray-man: Tyki/Allen is my favorite pairing. I really do not like Kanda/Allen at all, and I'm not overly fond of Rinali.

DC Comics: I like the whole Batfamily EXCEPT for Jason Todd, Damian Wayne, and Stephanie Brown. Pretty much any combo of the remaining is fine by me! I'm also a huge fan of Tim/Kon.

Final Fantasy IX: Kuja is my favorite character. I don't like Eiko or Amarant.

Final Fantasy XII: Vayne/Larsa or Gabranth/Larsa are my favorite pairings. I really do not like Ashe or Penelo.

Harry Potter: Harry is my favorite character, but I really do not like Harry/Ginny. Sirius/Harry is my favorite.

Marvel Comics: I like Steve and Bucky (not necessarily slash). For Young Avengers, of course I like Billy/Teddy. I don't like Cassie. But everyone else goes. Bucky/Natasha is also totally awesome.

Merlin: I don't have any special reqs here! I like Arthur/Merlin, though.

Sherlock Holmes: No prefs

Star Trek: Prefer Kirk/Bones.

Supernatural: If you want to go with pairings, I like Sam/Dean. I'm not a fan at all of Dean/Cas. I like all the characters except Ruby, Bela, and Lisa.

Labyrinth-Jareth and Sarah. Harry Potter-in no particular order, Ron, Draco and his gang, Snape and Slytherins in general, Hermione, Percy, Lucius, Harry, Dumbledore, Blaise, Tom Riddle+snakes are the characters I enjoy most, but anything is fine (Ron/Draco shipper). Petshop of Horrors-Count D and Leon. Outlaw Star-Fred Luo and Gene Starwind. Bleach-Yumichika and Ikkaku, rest of the 11th Division, Renji, Matsumoto, Shuuhei, Byakuya, Kyoraku, Urahara. Kuroshitsuji-love Ciel and all the main characters plus Grell and Lau. Deathnote-all the cops, Light, L. I love everybody and everything in Jurassic Park as well as Futurama, the Omen, Shakespeare, Indiana Jones, Addams Family, Back to the Future, Alien and Ghostbusters. I'm fine with romance for all fandoms of any and all orientations and pairings (except Harry/Ginny) if you enjoy drawing it, but it ain't necessary. I don't mind canon things (except Harry/Ginny) and I don't mind kooky out of character crazy things either. It's all up to you and what you think will be fun for you to do, that's the most important thing to me. :)

I also would LOVE to get Naruto art if it's Gai/Kakashi friendship or romantic or rivalry art. I just adore their interactions. And I also wouldn't mind Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein or any other Mel Brooks art. Or classic Dracula or other monster movie art. Or Alfred Hitchcock movie art. I love Psycho and The Birds as well as most everything else of his. And historical figures or scenes from history, whether factual or humorous or whatever, any scene, any figure your choice. Even if I don't know it I can look it up and learn something new. That goes for Mythology as well. And I LOVE dinosaurs anytime, anywhere, even out of context. Dinosaurs trump all. Those are always fun and easy to draw if you get stuck. :D

Specific requests: I'll be happy with whatever makes my artist happy! Holiday/Winter themes are cool or whatever tickles your fancy.
Due South -> RayK, Dief, and Fraser are my favorites. I love the three of them spending time, happy together.
Dragon Age: Origins -> The male Warden Cousland and Zevran are my favorite, but the world and the monsters are so beautiful, that anything would be awesome.
Stargate -> Cameron and Daniel are my OTP, but I also really enjoy Vala and Teal'c, so shippy or team gen would both be awesome.
Supernatural -> So I'm an equal opportunity Winchester gal, but I also love the idea of Supernatural everywhere we go. The idea of a hunt on my college campus (OK-State) would give me a thrill.
NFL/NCAA -> So Jordan Shipley (Bengals and Longhorns) and Colt McCoy (Browns and Longhorns) are my favorite athletes. These guys are so cute together and there are tons of pics from their college days, and their first couple of rookie games.

Full Metal Alchemist: I tumblr about FMA more than is actually healthy so you can get a sense of my faves there? Mostly the magic of Xing, Greed in general, and Roy/Riza. Please no Roy/Ed.
Shakespeare: As You Like It is the play of my heart, but I also love Macbeth, Merchant of Venice, Twelfth Night, Mercutio in R&J, and -- honestly -- any art you want to do will make me happy.
Star Trek: original series or Reboot -- I haven't seen anything else!

I love badass ladies and friends being friends. I love canon couples, too! Sequential art makes me happy, but really so does anything with a sense of character. :) I don't mind violence or dubcon or dark art. Blade of the Immortal: I like the odd friendship between Rin and Doa, and I'm also fond of Hyakurin and Giichi;
Discworld: Angua is a big favorite, and I like the Watch in general. I also like the Nac Mac Feegle and Tiffany Aching;
Mushishi: Ginko and his mentor, when Ginko was a child, would be excellent; I also like Tanyuu
Saiyuki: Gojyo is my favorite character; Gojyo and Hakkai my favorite pairing; but I like the whole ikkou together too;
