Important Dates

September 20 - October 10: Sign-ups. We will not accept applications after October 11 midnight (12:00 AM), Pacific Time. After you sign up, you will receive a validation email from the Yuletart Mods to ensure your email address is correct and operational. You must respond to this email by October 14.
October 11: Any remaining validation emails will be sent by the end of the day.
October 13: Deadline for replying to your validation email. If you do not reply to your validation email before the end of the day, you risk not being included in the fest. Once we receive your reply, we will comment here to your sign-up form letting you know you have been confirmed.
October 20: Assignments handed out no later than this date.

Important Points About Signing Up

• The Set List has now been created. Please specify what your preference is for any umbrella fandoms that have many sub-categories. This will help your gift-giver know what to draw for you.

• For ALL fandoms, please spell out the fandom name rather than using acronyms! THIS INCLUDES BAND NAMES.


• Additionally, remember that the more information you can give in your "special requests" section, the better. This is where you would designate specific characters, ships, etc. More info helps us make more appropriate assignments.


• Remember that Yuletart is about the joy of creating art together, not about who is "best" or "most perfect." You should not only be able to put forth your very best effort, but be able to appreciate the effort of others regardless of their level of skill. We know that "effort" is a very subjective concept, so for our purposes we're defining it as an art or craft that has gone through at least one rough draft, gotten objective advice from a third party, and then edited into a final, more polished work. (Note: Mom and Dad probably aren't going to be objective about your art. If you can't find an objective beta, try artbeta. The artists there are patient, generous and willing to work with all skill levels. You can even ask for one-on-one help via email.)

Pushing Daisies: ensemble pie-making, Chuck and Ned being shmoopy, or the aunts being their strange awesome selves. // Inception: the whole gang going on a field trip of some sort (to the zoo or the aquarium or whatever, it doesn't even have to make sense!), anything involving competition where Arthur loses and is being a snot about it. // The Simpsons: family outing, Bart and Lisa friendship, Nelson/Martin Team Discovery Channel bonding <3. // Avatar: The Last Airbender: IROH!!! Uncle Iroh + tea + emo!Zuko = funtimes! Also, the Gaang doing anything, esp. if it involves picnics or musical instruments. // The Hunger Games: Katniss and Rue friendship, anything Cinna-related. // Discworld: anything ensemble-y with the City Watch or the witches, Hogswatches spent with Death & the fam. // The Addams Family:family dinners, how the kids keep themselves entertained on rainy afternoons, Grandmama/Morticia/Wednesday bonding. // Red Dead Redemption: BONNIE! In general, I like canon. Interpretive things like genderbending, crossovers, rendering a character in your own style, character studies, AUs (characters in real life or other fandoms), or anything else is also cool. And I like learning more about your artistic processes, so if you make drafts/sketches, please consider including them!

I don't really like intimate situations (ie. NSFW, etc). Ships are okay, but I'm not too shippy and prefer to focus on characterization and stories.

Bleach - just started watching this year. I'm in the middle of the Arrancar arcs (around ep 150) and quite enjoying it. Very curious about Ulquiorra and Orihime. Don't know much about them yet.
Doctor Who (David Tennant era) - Love the 10th Doctor/David Tennant! He's so dangerous and lovable at the same time. Heroic and flawed. His regeneration into the 11th Doctor broke my heart. Tennant played that scene so well. If you need a suggestion, I guess some sort of tribute to the 10th Doctor? But I'm open to anything.
Howl's Moving Castle - Howl and Sophie. They have such an odd, special relationship. Very beautiful movie and characters.
The Hunger Games trilogy - I was a big fan of Cinna, then Finnick in book 3. Some ideas: any of Cinna's costumes, Finnick being his flamboyant self, any scene from the Games themselves. Human survival instincts at their most basic. Nothing really disgusting, but raw and intense.
Jane Austen - Pride and Prejudice is my favorite (book, BBC series). Love Elizabeth and Darcy.
Shakespeare - My favorites are Hamlet (I've studied it in four separate classes during high school and college, and I love it more each time), A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Sonnet XVIII ("Shall I compare thee to a summer's day...").
Disney - Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin
Les Miserables - Any of the characters. My favorites are Cosette and Jean Valjean.
Korean dramas - This is one instance when shipping is okay, since the series are all about relationships. Main ships, though, not the third wheels.

I'm a big fan of ridiculousness? Happy/joyful stuff. I love AUs. I’d rather not anything sad or angry but creepiness and violence are all good. (Joyful violence?! I dig it.) I love jerks.

My Chemical Romance: I love the new trailer (allllll AUs, really!), I love all their ridiculous adorable faces pretty much interchangeably. Group things are awesome, but I can go for any kind of pining romance, too <3<3.
Addams Family: Morticia is my favourite, and I love the family dynamic, more interested in the adults than the kids, something gennish, something everyday (or everyday for an Addams!)
DC Comics: I love the Robinses. They are my very favourites. I like the idea of Kara and Steph kicking ass together. I looove Kate. And GCPD. I love Jason, especially with Robinses. I'm super not into villains, at all (uhm, except Jason... and Selina).
Nightmare: Creepiness! Awesome detail-oriented creepiness.

Good Omens: Anything with the Them, especially Pepper. Or Crowley and Aziraphale in different time periods, particularly the French Revolution or Victorian/Edwardian England.

Runaways: Gert and Old Lace, Xavin/Karolina, Molly beating up Wolverine.

Nightmare Before Christmas: Lock, Shock, and Barrel are my favourites, but I love everyone in this movie, even the minor characters with one line, so pretty much anything goes. But crossovers with any other Burton films would be too awesome for words.

Once and Future King: Arthur/Guenever/Lancelot is the Doomed OT3 Of My Heart, anything about how much all three of them love each other would be amazing.

Specific requests:
Marvel comics - Thor and Loki interacting somehow. I don't care if it's girl or dude Loki, and they can be doing whatever, even if it's as passive as an implied conversation. Failing that, I'd be cool with any past or present Avenger(s) doing anything (though uh, please not Young Avengers).

Zelda - as long as it's OoT, I'll be happy with literally anything.

Final Fantasy VII - I would greatly appreciate it if this picture didn't include Cloud or Zack. Other than that, whatever!
