The colors really flow well on this. It's very pretty.

Thank you, I'm glad the colors work. It wasn't easy for me to evoke the feeling of firelight, especially as I did not want it very dark.

And for some reason the thing that really stands out to me are their boots. You do very nice boots.

Thank you. I actually had a hard time with the laces, because I kept getting confused with the over/under pattern, even though I looked at my own and at reference photos of bootlaces. I'm glad it paid off.

The painting sets a really nice mood, and I love John & Rodney's expressions.

OMG! I love Rodney's hand resting on John's chest, and they way that everyone looks so comfortable and relaxed. You've put a wonderful amount of detail into it, and I love the colouring, the warm glow of the campfire.

And you even have them making s'mores</i! Another one of my favourite things! Thank you mystery artist! &hearts;

I am glad you like your gift, and that it matches what you wanted. I wanted to make it look a lived in scene like out of a narrative so I put in all these details I imagined at a campside (I actually never made s'mores, they just aren't eaten here), and tried to convey the campfire light impression in color without making it too dark. So I'm happy to hear this worked for you.

BTW, if you like, I could send you the hi-resolution scan of this via email, so that you could have it in printing quality and see the detail.

Ronon and Teyla look to be having a really interesting conversation there, which makes me wonder what they are discussing (hatching a prank, perhaps?). John and Rodney look very relaxed and happy.I like your attention to detail - the food, and camping supplies and (as mentioned) boots!

Thank you. I wanted to make it look like part of a narrative and give it a real feel of things happening, so I included the little details. I'm glad this worked.

The colouring and the textures of this piece are wonderful! There are so many lovely details. I especially liked the fire and the circle of light it casts compared with the dark blue forest. (And the fact that everyone is happy and smiling.) :)

Gosh, this is cozy. :D I love the sense of place, here: all the little campsite details (the bag of marshmallows is awesome), the warm colors in the circle around the fire, and the cool, darker shades of the forest behind them. There's a great mood to the piece! Posing's pretty great too, and Teyla looks like she really can't wait to eat that marshmallow.. ;)

Thank you! The soles of the boots were certainly easier than the laces. I kept getting tangled up in the over/under pattern of those, loosing the place (when I thought I had mastered the shoelace principle with five... lol)

HOLY GOD! The details you got into this are freaking aamzing. The crushed beer can! Heck, that's awesome. All the little touches (the boots, you got the ringlets on the boots! Wow!)Great art!

Thank you! I'm glad to hear the details work for you. I wanted to give it a lived in, real feeling of a camp site, and a sense of narrative, so I included all the little stuff like open packages, a crushed can and so on.

Smores! OH, this is so snuggly! It reminds me of the very best picture books, it's done in such a thorough and color-rich style. You took a lot of dull, boring colors (lots of blacks and browns thanks to nature and uniforms)and made them vibrant and varied and just a beautiful mix. The fire is particularly stunning.

Yeah, that is a cooler for the cans that they have somehow brought across the galaxy to Pegasus along with their plastic water bottles. Seriously while the camping is fanon, beer in cans is canon (like you can see them in the Shrine) just like the plastic bottles, which makes little sense, but that is SGA for you. *g*
