Important Dates

September 20 - October 10: Sign-ups. We will not accept applications after October 11 midnight (12:00 AM), Pacific Time. After you sign up, you will receive a validation email from the Yuletart Mods to ensure your email address is correct and operational. You must respond to this email by October 14.
October 11: Any remaining validation emails will be sent by the end of the day.
October 13: Deadline for replying to your validation email. If you do not reply to your validation email before the end of the day, you risk not being included in the fest. Once we receive your reply, we will comment here to your sign-up form letting you know you have been confirmed.
October 20: Assignments handed out no later than this date.

Important Points About Signing Up

The Set List has now been created. Please specify what your preference is for any umbrella fandoms that have many sub-categories. This will help your gift-giver know what to draw for you.

Star Trek (The Next Generation and Deep Space 9)

Marvel Comics (Iron Man movie, Runaways, Generation-X, Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon)

Music RPF (The Beatles, U2)

For ALL fandoms, please spell out the fandom name rather than using acronyms! THIS INCLUDES BAND NAMES.

Additionally, remember that the more information you can give in your "special requests" section, the better. This is where you would designate specific characters, ships, etc. More info helps us make more appropriate assignments.

Remember that Yuletart is about the joy of creating art together, not about who is "best" or "most perfect." You should not only be able to put forth your very best effort, but be able to appreciate the effort of others regardless of their level of skill. We know that "effort" is a very subjective concept, so for our purposes we're defining it as an art or craft that has gone through at least one rough draft, gotten objective advice from a third party, and then edited into a final, more polished work. (Note: Mom and Dad probably aren't going to be objective about your art. If you can't find an objective beta, try artbeta. The artists there are patient, generous and willing to work with all skill levels. You can even ask for one-on-one help via email.)

What is the highest rating of art you would like to get? PG-13 (wrt sexual content, a higher rating for violence/gore or other adult themes would be ok)
Specific requests: Gen, het, slash & femslash are all ok, with a slight preference for gen. I prefer art focusing on the heroes over art showing villains or minor characters. Both canon-compliant art & AU are ok in most of my requested fandoms, though I'm more fond of serious AUs than crack AU pics.

Dislikes: very dark scenarios (but suffering/angst or some violence/gore would be ok), character death, incest, embarrassment squick (though that's rarely triggered by art)

Daredevil: My favorite is Matt; favorite pairings Matt/Foggy & Matt/Milla. Not very fond of Elektra, despite my soft spot for ninjas.

Dresden Files: I'd love to see Harry Dresden & Carlos Ramirez (whether slash or as friends). I'm not much into Harry/Bob as slash, as that seems more tv inspired.

Farscape: My favorite is John Crichton, but I love Aeryn as well. I'm very much into John/Aeryn, though I can see other pairings. I love all the characters, so it so the art doesn't have to be about Crichton.

Lord of the Rings: My favorite is Aragorn by far, followed by Gandalf. I'm more interested in the men, elves & wizards than the hobbits. Any art showing Aragorn, whether still living it rough with the Dunedain or later as King with Arwen by his side would be awesome, but any scene set during their quest would be great as well. LOTR is however one of the fandoms where my preferences stick mostly close to canon.

Merlin (BBC): I dislike Modern AUs, so I'd really prefer the canon setting. My favorites are Merlin, Arthur and Gwen (friendship or Merlin/Arthur or Arthur/Gwen), but I like the others too. I'd also be happy with a pic showing Gaius as Merlin's magical mentor (not sexually though!), or Arthur with Uther (no incest) or Arthur & his knights.

Murdoch Mysteries: I like William and Julia's awkward romance/mutual crush, but appreciate them in their professional setting too. I love the atmosphere of the series, so something with a period feel would be awesome, even more so if it had any of these almost steampunkish contraptions in the series. (Like the airships and robots stuff.)

SGA: My favorite is John Sheppard, either gen with Teyla, Rodney and/or Ronon (i.e. slash&het combinations within the current team). My true OTP is Sheppard/Atlantis or Sheppard/Ancient Tech, so any motif involving either would be awesome.

Star Trek Reboot: Anything with Kirk, Spock, McCoy and/or Uhura would be great. Kirk/Spock/Uhura is awesome, but K/S, S/U, K/Mc & K/S/Mc are all fine too. (And I always like gen.)

Terminator TSCC: My favorites are Sarah, John and Derek. Anything with them being badass resistance fighters.

White Collar: Neal&Mozzie friendship, Neal&Peter friendship, Neal/Peter/Elizabeth OT3, or June being awesome.
