Aaah! So twee! And in a style reminiscent of Kate Beaton, which I approve of entirely. :D

Because I'm a mod and sneaky like that, I saw this before it was posted, but that just means I've gotten more time to bask in its gloriousness. :D I love that I can look at it without any explanation attached and know it's P&P, I love the sketchiness of it, I love that it puts me in mind of Kate Beaton. I love Darcy's hilarious face best of all. Wonderful work, thank you so much!

Love the style, the facial expressions, the composition, and the sketched-in background. This is just really nice to look at.

I really like how you've made it look like a stylized version of a period illustration and the way their faces balances between caricature and naturalism. Great job!

awwwwwwwwwww I love it. Darcy being all snooty and Elizabeth being all quitely AWESOME. I love the textural feel to it as well. It's just pretty to look at too :)

Ooh, I love your Lizzie Bennett and I'm cracking up over the expression on Mr. Darcy's face.

This is ADORABLE. Darcy's angstyface!

[identity profile] chrismm.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
:D I really like this, the marker strokes, the contrast between the black and the grey, and his grouchy expression, and her impish smile, and her hair is just awesome.

[identity profile] ieke85.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
This is absolutely awesome. I adore the sketchiness! And HOORAY for P&P art!

Oh, man, the expressions on this are *great*.

This is some amazingly charming lineart! Oh Lizzie, I love your face ♥ And the way Mr. Darcy is standing in the background, lolzing foreverrrrr~~

[identity profile] glockgal.livejournal.com 2010-01-03 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I LOOOOVE the cartoony style, mixed in with the movie-blackandwhite classic look and then bordered with a Victorian silhouette portrait border. The blend of all three elements works so well with the quirkiness that is P&P! Darcy's face cracks me up and Lizzy looks positively charming. I totally want to see the whole story animated like this now!

[identity profile] dualbunny.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
The personality bursting out of this puts a huge smile on my face. I think your character style is fantastic, and the shading and crosshatching is the perfect lively accompaniment to it. :D

[identity profile] bossymarmalade.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
This is unbelievably fantastic! Elizabeth's arched eyebrow and pert nose belying her proper posture, and Darcy lurking in the background all suspicious -- not to mention the oval cameo-framing of the whole thing. The greyscale suits it, too, what with the nuances of the canon being what makes it so beloved. Marvellous!
