Artist's Notes: My desktop computer decided mid-November to die, killing any plans I had to do this via computer-colored art. So I broke out the markers. I kind of wished I changed the color scheme a bit, but I was pleased at drawing the background.
Summary: A drawing of Izumi, Sig and the Elrics some time while they were studying with her (post-island).

You did a great job with the markers, especially on the counter and the curtians. It's great.

Thanks. One of the things I like about Fullmetal Alchemist is that there's this sense of family being important, but also what you make of it. Ed and Al (the Elric boys) lose their mother and their dad has gone missing, and not only do they have their best friend and her grandma (their neighbors) looking out for them, but also manage to persuade Izumi to take them in as students because she had lost her own kid (and the ability to have kids). (For that matter, the series plot, rather than the background above, is driven by Ed and Al trying to help one another.)

Yeah. One thing I didn't want to do was to use a lot of flat colors. I wanted a lot of texture to draw the eye, but not enough to be distracting.
