Artist notes: This was my first attempt at watercolour in a long time! I don't know how successful I was, but it was fun. The original is REALLY BIG so this is a photograph rather than a scan, hence the funny shadows in the top right corner.
Summary: Dear leyna55, I saw that Wesley was your favourite character from Angel and that you also like Illyria and AUs. The thought of combining these things got me thinking: "what if Wesley had been the one to open Illyria's sarcophagus instead of Fred?"

ohhh my god - what an awesome idea! I never would have thought of that. Your watercolor style is awesome, I love the natural brushstroke-y look - and you definitely captured what Wesley looks like, or... what he would look like if he were Illyrified :P

This is really lovely (if creepy) work. I love the watercolors so much . . . the shading's beautiul and detailed, and I'm impressed with the effects you've managed on his outfit. The likeness is great, but his expression is so intense and arresting - you've really pulled off the concept.

Oh goodness I love this! Wes, Illyria and Fred were an amazing combination and this is an awesome idea. That would have been almost even angstier than what really happened... mmm. Now I want the fic for this! ;) Love the watercolors, his delightful Britishness still shining through, and the blue in the background. Great job!

Great likeness. I love his expression. It is subtle and full of emotion - there is fascination, there, and a touch of amusement maybe? His eyes are gorgeous. His glasses look really great, too (and I like the fact that Illyria has kept them. It adds an extra layer of mystery to the portrait, which I adore).

Your watercolour technique is lovely. The colours are really striking and I like the texture of his armour, and the sweeping paintbrush strokes of his hair.

I don't even know where to start with hos awesome this is. I LOVE YOUR WATERCOLOURS. Love your application of dry brush, it adds so much depth and life and gorgeousness to the painting, particularly in the clever shadow details of his neck and eyes and ears. Love how he still has that distinct uptight Wesley persona, but it's skewed by the alienness that is Illyria. His hair particularly gives me great joy. Please once the reveals are up, I'd love to know your technique!!
