Summary: I'm not sure his bad-wrong hotness comes across in this painting, but *guh*--giant red Tim Curry Darkness can feel free to seduce me any day. :}

. . . so I clicked the tag and jumped about a foot. Whoa, hello there.

This is gorgeous (if terrifying) work! The cropped, up-close composition makes it that much more intense, and I mean . . . you've really brought across the character. Vividly. (He just has so much . . . presence. I think some of the wrong-hotness in the film comes from Tim Curry's voice/carriage, but there's a little something here still.) Marvelous job on his features, and the shading of his red skin! The color is generally complex and beautiful (so detailed - omg his teeth). I love the shine on his throat, and the misty swirl through his claws. Wow.

Thank you! I love working with red and oranges, and the blues and purples just popped so nicely against them. :D

I wanted to start a comment, "Let me be the first to say that you have made something really fucking scary, congratulations!" but I spent too many minutes staring enraptured at that little piece of visible gum, and was beaten to the punch.

Let me (hopefully) be the third to say you have made something really fucking scary. Congratulations! Way to reclaim sparkles for the realm darkness.

Seriously, I am all about those gums.

LOL. Sparkles are so darkside! Reading that made me grin hugely. ;D And thank you--I admit, I was rather pleased with how his gums and teeth came out, so it pleases me even more that they grabbed you too. :D

Eeek. EEEK.

That crop/close-up is crazy effective. And the different shades of red and orange in the skin are beautifully done. But every time I scroll back up, his stare kind of freaks me out all over again -- seriously, I can cause myself a little uncomfortable tug at the base of my spine just by scrolling back up and looking into his eyes -- so I think I need to be closing this tab now, haha. Fantastic work!

I am so completely in love with the texture and colour work in this. It's basically one colour, but there's so much variation and ... guh.

SWEET JESUS

That is fucking astonishing! I didn't expect anything in particular, so the up-close intensity and absolutely goddamn PERFECT recreation of this character caught me off-guard. I can't even think of what to say to you about this piece, but it made my heart pound faster and I keep scrolling up to take in the burning-hot stare and the contemptuous lip-curl and then scrolling down to recover. Even though I didn't find the dude hot in Legend (I think I was pretty young when I watched it, so I mostly registered TERROR) the dirty-bad-wrong sensuality totally comes through in this picture. I am seriously amazed.

When I drew him, I never even thought about how people would be clicking on the cut with no idea of what was really on the other side. XD

And your comment is just so wonderful--thank you so much for sharing it and saying such lovely things. I'm pretty sure when I first saw him back as a kid I just thought he was cool and evil. The wrongness was just something that hit me rather hard when rewatching it in prep for painting him. *g*

Yikes! I don't know the fandom but this monster looks scary. The close-up is very intense, he seems to look right at you.

HOLY CRAPOLA. I don't know the movie at all, so I had no idea what was waiting behind the cut and uh... I sure as hell didn't expect this! But oh man, this is simply awesomely scary and creepy-- I keep having to scroll up for short bursts before having to scroll down again, but this is intensely well done, wow *_*
