How lovely :) Such great details! And her eyes are really gorgeous.

I don't know the fandom but this is very luscious. I like how the hair and textures work as decorative elements as well.

ooh so exciting to see Monster Blood Tattoo fanart! It seems all dreamlike and full of movement. You made it your own while still keeping a lot of the feel of the book illustrations. Very cool.

I'm not familiar with the fandom, but this is some breathtaking and intricate pencil work. I love all the textures you've captured.

You know, I was so excited to see that someone has done Monster Blood Tattoo art that I think I would be thrilled no matter what you'd produced, but this is such a beautiful illustration I'm kind of doubly thrilled :) What a wonderful portrait of Europe, her serene, mysterious expression is just perfect, and I love the wild tangle of hair and fur and vegetation around her. You've perfectly captured that combination of elegant, powerful lady and wild, dangerous monster hunter in this image. And the shading around her eyes is particularly beautiful. Wonderful work, mystery artist!!

:D :D :D

Aw Mystery Artist, you have made my day! There is an absolute dearth of MBT fanart, and less so good fanart--and your lovely pencils and delicate linework have really done Europe justice! Her dignified countenance really shines through--I like the refined style you've rendered her in! Thank you for this piece!

I would post more but I think [livejournal.com profile] mawaridi up there pretty much sums up the rest of my thoughts :)

omg, I thought I replied to this. THIS IS WHAT MEDS DO TO ME, AAA.

You don't know how happy you made me when I received the e-mail with you as my giftee! I've been itching to do some MBT fanart, and you gave me the perfect excuse to do so. The series does need more love, it has everything I secretly want in a YA fantasy series, including illustrations.

I feel a little bad about not putting anything in the art comments, but I kept degrading into mindless ravings about Europe being awesome. xD Also, I'm still not completely finished with it, so when I am, I might leave a comment with a link to the updated image for you. :o

Wow, this is stunning work. I love the shading of the eye area on the left side especially, it's just so round and full and the negative space really shapes it. Gorgeous.

[identity profile] dualbunny.livejournal.com 2009-12-15 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Beautiful! Lovely technique--such wonderful shading and subtlety. Makes me wish I knew the fandom!

Ohh very delicate looking, very pretty!

Pretttyyyy. I know nothing about this series, but I really like that this character seems to be melting into the landscape.

[identity profile] dramedy.livejournal.com 2009-12-15 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
wow this is very beautiful. IDK the fandom, but it seems very quiet and serene and mysterious. I like it a lot. good job. :D

SO BEAUTIFUL. That's all I can say.

I love that this is just pencil-and-paper, because there's an almost unbearable richness to the portrait that would have been overwhelming were it in colour. Such astonishing detail and texture! Even though I don't know the fandom, there's such a strong sense of character here -- absolutely nothing like the stodgy, lifeless stuff that portraiture can sometimes be. I am entranced by the different shades and layers. wonderful!

[identity profile] zephre.livejournal.com 2009-12-17 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
lovely work, beautiful picture!

[identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Dear god . . . . . dear god the look of this, the composition, the shading, this is all so gorgeous, and evocative. I love it.

[identity profile] leochi.livejournal.com 2009-12-23 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, this is simply beautiful! It reminds me of old Renaissance da Vinci or Boltraffio sketches.

[identity profile] glockgal.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Waaaugh this is so delicate and intriguing because there are so many lovely details to absorb. I loooove how it looks so like an old sketch on parchment, done in like the Renaissance or something, recently discovered and restored for display. The whooshes and sworls and shades of your lines are divine!
