Ooh very interesting effect with the colors, making the whole image like stained glass.

Mmm, Benedick's jacket.

IDK why but the bold outline is REALLY working for me. I have to agree with [livejournal.com profile] ocicatsy, very reminiscent of stained glass, and very lovely.

So pretty! I love the colours, and the stained glass style. Their pose and costumes are lovely, and I really like their expressions. Benedick is serious for once in this scene, and you have captured that intensity.

Thank you! I'm so glad the characters came through in this!

I love this! Beatrice and Benedick are one of my favorite literary couples, and I think this is a really good portrayal of them :D

I love the stained glass effect, with the delicate textures in each panel, and the stark black outlines. Just gorgeous.

Thank you!

[identity profile] kittehkat.livejournal.com 2009-12-12 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I agree, it definitely reminds me of the charm and coloring of stained glass as a whole. It reminds me of Beauty and the Beast in that sense (plus the puffy yellow dress doesn't hurt). Great! :)

So, so pretty. :D The posing is so beautiful and spot-on (having drawn hand-kissing before, and having found it a pain in the ass, I am impressed with how easy and natural you make that look). My favorite thing, though, is the stained glass look on Beatrice and Benedick. It's a really different sort of technique.

[identity profile] zephre.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you very much!

[identity profile] mawaridi.livejournal.com 2009-12-13 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, the colours in this are gorgeous and the layout is just brilliant. I love the way the architecture frames Beatrice and Benedick and almost dwarfs them with its grandeur. What a lovely, intimate moment :)

Thank you!

[identity profile] dualbunny.livejournal.com 2009-12-13 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
This is *so* pretty! I love how the solid outlines give it a painted stained-glass feel, as others mentioned. It's rich and full of impact at the same time.

This is beautiful! It looks like a stained glass window, all bright and luminescent and lovely! The background is gorgeous, and I absolutely love all of the clothing details. Benedick is quite the dashing fellow!

Shakespeare! You did Shakespeare! And it's Much Ado, which does not get near enough love! This is so wonderful. The sense of composition has a great sense of measured balance to it, and the architecture works out wonderfully. There's a true sense of vaulted ceilings, and the look between these two.... Thank you for a gift so lovely, mystery gifter!

[identity profile] zephre.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! I'm so pleased that you like it, it was a great fun scene to draw, and reviewing the play was awesome as well!

The colours in this are chosen so carefully, and they are really effective; I echo the comment about the whole thing looking like stained glass, and the delicate linework on their faces gives it almost a tapestry feel at the same time. A number of different influences, and they all work beautifully!
