What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? STAAAAAR TREEEEEK! Which, I guess technically, isn't NEW, but the reboot version of it. I also think there should be art for The Hangover. oooh, and Up!
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? Not finishing my art./ Finishing my art! and getting the comment from the recipient that my art was enjoyed. :D
What kind of art do you make? Drawings, done in photoshop because my Wacom has spoiled me rotten. I don't even know how to use a pencil anymore! I tried the other day and nearly took an eye out.

NON-MANGA. *g* Seriously, I'm totally into naturalistic and old-fashioned. I perfer natural media, especially watercolours and coloured pencils, but I also dabble in Copics and digital.

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? Excited to see the Star Trek art, for sure. What I'm really hoping is that the hype means there'll be more Star Trek:TOS art this year though.
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? Fear: Artist's Block. Joy: Looking at pretty art, and seeing what my gifter has come up with. I love that element of surprise, and so far I've always been super surprised with what I've gotten.
What kind of art do you make? D: I don't know how to answer this question. Fanart mostly... usually uncoloured, but I'm miraculously managed to add colour for yuletart every year.

I've been here since the beginning, and I absolutely mean to participate - this is the fest of my dreams, no lie. ♥
What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why?
Oh, Star Trek for me as well; I can't decide whether I'd be more into art for the new film or TOS (which isn't new at all, but it has newly captured my attention, so). I also think the new BBC show Being Human would be a lot of fun to play with, and I'm pretty excited about DC's current Batwoman (who has been around for a few years, but her recent appearances in Detective Comics are a new beginning nonetheless).
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy?
Artist's block is forever my greatest fear in exchanges in challenges, because I'm determined not to turn in sub-par work (or fail to finish, eek). My biggest joy is a tough one. It's a toss-up between working on art for someone (with kickass concepts I'd never have thought up just on my own, and all the drive that comes from making someone the best gift you can), and seeing all the beautiful, diverse fanart that other participants produce.
What kind of art do you make?
Comics! And comicky pin-up art/one-shot pieces. My favorite thing is doing black & white inkwork with lots of hatching/contrast, though sometimes I mess about with Photoshop as well.

Not too much to be afraid of--system's set up so I won't have to draw anything too scary if I don't wanna. :\

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why?None! I am an old-fashioned type, and like the old old fandoms. Oh, wait. FLIGHT OF THE CONCORDS!
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? Not finishing, no inspiration, etc etc. But I will always love reading the comments on not just my submission, but others too.

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Ooh, let's see... definitely Merlin, because... well, mostly because tunics=♥ and Star Trek! Although I'd be really excited to see some TOS fanart and not just reboot stuff. Though both are good! Oh, and if Harry Potter is included this year I'll be stoked for that, too. I miss HP. Aww. Aaaand, this isn't new whatsoever, but I just want to give a shoutout to Buffy fans out there and say LET'S MAKE SOME KICKASS BUFFY FANART THIS YEAR. Because there just isn't enough.
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? Hmmm... I don't have any fears, it's always awesome ;) the one downside is that I always want to do more than one picture/fandom... not that I have the time XD but I still want to. Annnnd my biggest joy is always a tie between seeing all the amazing art that everyone comes up with, and feeling that warm fuzzy xmas-spirit glow when something I made makes people happy. Aww.

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why?
The anime/book series Moribito, which is not particularly new, but I just re-watched recently ♥. I can't help but want anything in the Warcraft universe too. Also I'll consume anything for Katekyo Hitman Reborn, which remains full of crack and joy for me :>.
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy?
Ahhh my biggest fear is to be a loser in the corner, dancing by myself! Also I haven't taken part in many fests so I'm afraid of making a mistake. My biggest joy is getting to see art for less well known fandoms, and hopefully getting to know some knew characters.
What kind of art do you make?
Usually digital but sometimes original illustrations!

- What new fandoms are you excited about?
Pretty much the same fandoms as before -- Buffy, X-Files, The Office, Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter will be nice (see username) but certainly not the only thing I'd request. Oooh, I'd love some MacGyver art! Dr. Horrible, too.
- Biggest fear about Yuletart? Biggest joy?
I don't think we'll really get Harry Potter dammerung but I would be sad if we did. I'm a bit more worried about the Star Trek reboot, much as I enjoyed it. I'm most worried about vet school making me procrastinate on my Yuletart offering (though never fear, I've always gotten it in on time). My biggest joy -- getting my giftart, tied with seeing the response to the one I gave. I'm self-centered that way. ;)

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? STAR TREK. I'm ready to boldly go where no one has gone before! Mainly with either Karl Urban or Chrise Pine... OR BOTH.

What kind of art do you make? Lately I've been leaning back towards traditional media with copics, though I prefer to work with ink or pencil because black and white has always been my strong point. But I work a lot in Photoshop too... though my tablet's rather shakey these days...

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? Not so much a new fandom in general, but a new-to-Yuletart fandom: I'd love to see someone nominate popslash this year. Please?
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? My biggest fear is submitting a piece that isn't all that great, and getting criticized. My biggest joy would be actually submitting something, actually. lol.
What kind of art do you make? The best way to put is in artistic terms is digital mixed media: posed 3D models with postwork done in Photostop. Within The Sims 2 community, where I got the idea from, it's called Frankensimming.

I'm excited about Katekyo Hitman Reborn (because its become my new addiction), Full Metal Alchemist, K-ON!, and a whole lot of other fandoms that I can't think of at the moment.
* What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy?
My biggest fear is that I end of giving a crappy gift or that the recipient isn't happy with what I give them.
My biggest joy is coming up with something to make and also receiving (come on who doesn't like receiving gifts!!!).

I do mostly traditional drawing and digital coloring. This year, I want to do something different. Not sure what though....

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why?
BBC Merlin and Star Trek XI. I'm also excited for Avatar: The Last Airbender because I watched the whole series this spring (and the DVDs are on their way). Yay!
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy?
Fear: Not being able to do justice to the fandom/characters assigned. Also there's the ubiquitous artist worry of "what if nobody likes it?" I think that one comes packaged with one's first sketchbook.
Joy: Being challenged to expand my art horizons. Meeting new awesome artists.
What kind of art do you make?
For this kind of exchange I tend to do digital illustration in Photoshop or Painter, but on the larger scene I do traditional media: pencil, charcoal, Prismacolor pencils, watercolor, oil pastels, ink, mixed media collage. I've dabbled in printmaking and oil painting. I also make art quilts.

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? I can't wait for more GLEE and I've been sucked into True Blood against my better judgment (ERIIIIIC)... and Axis Powers Hetalia really is fun (and all the fanart!). Otherwise, my usual fandom flames still burn strong, mhhhh Supernatural, Pundit RPS and the usual animanga suspects :D
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? My biggest joy comes from the satisfaction in creating something that I can be proud of, and that hopefully makes the recipient happy! And ahh, it's always nerve-wracking when the initial hoped-for inspiration doesn't immediately hit...
What kind of art do you make? ...I cannot lie about the strong anime/manga influence in my art, and I have never met a color or a thick line that I didn't like :D. Anything I can add some little flourishes in is also always fun!

Define new? My new fandoms this year are new to me and old to everyone else! Or slightly more obscure, mostly musical theatre. Hair, Black Books... oh, Dollhouse! That's new! Or stuff for the new House and Torchwood episodes!
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy?
Fear: That I'll a) fuck up hard, c) get shitty art, or b) find no fun whatsoever in drawing what I've been assigned.
So far none of these have happened, and I'm optimistic that they won't!
Joy: Man, the whole package. People drawing awesome stuff for each other! Sharing! Trying new fandoms! Seeing all the awesome work! It's just awesome.

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? I don't know. I'm certainly happy to oblige to fandoms I've at least heard of. The introduction of Harry Potter fanart is exciting, but I understand the fear that this will become another HP art exchange, and I don't want that.
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Not meeting the deadline.
Your biggest joy? Seeing the reactions
What kind of art do you make? I haven't really set down a style, but I can see it seeping through my attempts at drawing. I don't usually draw anime, and that's not because I'm on some crusade against it. But it is hard to adhere to a personal style when anime itself is based off of a general style, and to deviate from that can make it look really wonky.

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? -Leverage! GLEE! Big Bang Theory and Pushing Daisies as well. I'm excited by all of the excitement about the Star Trek reboot. :) I don't know how much this applies as a fandom, but I am in love with Coraline.
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? - Aside from the perpetual deadline fear? This would be only the second time I will post art in a public forum. I'm a little terrified. The biggest joy is taking that step into participating, I suppose.
What kind of art do you make? In general: main mediums are clay and metal -jewelry and sculpture. I also monkey around with collage and found object art, colored pencils and ink. Basically any medium I can get my hands on, though I prefer 3D work. My post-holidays project this winter's going to be wrestling with photoshop.

New to Yuletart? Thinking of participating this year? Not quite new; last year was my first and I'm so excited to do it again!!!
What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why? Though I don't plan on drawing/requesting it, I am excited to see ST:R art from others ;-) My biggest fandom this year has been.. um... fakenews/pundits RPS ;^_^
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy? Er, my biggest fear is that my simple cartoony style will fail to make my gift recipient happy, but I have a few ideas for alternate crafts this year... My biggest joy is seeing people squee when a request was met beyond all expectations :D
What kind of art do you make? I am more of a digital graphics person, but for things like this - pencil, pen and ink, digital coloring.

What new fandoms are you excited about in 2009? Why?
I don't really have any new fandoms - there are a number of things I started watching this year, but I consider myself fond of them, not fannish about them. I really have no idea what I'm going to request or offer this year. :D
What's your biggest fear about Yuletart? Your biggest joy?
Getting something that I really can't figure out what to draw for. :) It sounds horrible to say I'm less concerned about the recipient's thoughts, but it's because everyone here has bee so nice, that I know they'll appreciate the effort that went into it. So as long as I hit an acceptable standard for myself, I feel OK on that front.
It's just figuring out what the heck to do that's always the hardest. What if I turn in something substandard because I can't come up with a decent picture idea? *panic*
Biggest joy - getting something that someone has done for me! I don't care about the quality level (no one need worry on that account!), it's just the idea that someone read my preferences and created something specifically for me that's so nice. :) Second biggest joy: seeing what everyone else has gotten, third biggest joy: artist-spotting before the reveal. :)
What kind of art do you make?
Some anime, some realism, some a hybrid of anime and realism. :) I really enjoy doing a realistic take on anime characters, and I'm experimenting with new techniques for doing that, which work out fairly well. Sometimes. XD
