There are MANY MANY THINGS I love about this, but IN PARTICULAR: the color scheme is just gorgeous, so rich and warm; I am in complete envy of your patience with hair; the drapery is LOVELY; I really like how you handled Manji's scars; and I love how you've brought their faces a little closer to realism without losing what makes them look distinctive!

God, this is heartstopping art. There's something in the look of the fella, the way he's staring out at the viewer that just makes me want to hide. He looks so tough and fierce and the scars are so pronounced and tangible, it's mesmerizing but also a little scary. Love how you drew the girl's hair and her kimona and I especially LOVE that they both look very, very Japanese in their facial features, without relying on bad cartoon stereotypes. Everything about this piece thrills me to no end.

I had completely forgotten about Blade of the Immortal series until I saw this! I had an embarrassingly huge crush on Manji so I love, absolutely love, how you've drawn him. Lovely scars and expression, the broad shoulders are so fitting with Rin's tiny form. I love her gorgeous red robe with the little design on the sleeve - and her pigtails! Perfect portrait piece ♥
