Artist notes: I misremembered the deadline date, so this was done in one day. Ended up skipping work to do it. Ah, the sacrifices I make because of my own procrastination. I was excited to be able to draw this fandom! It's so many great things in life coming together to create 45 minutes of awesome. So I did enjoy drawing it, and I hope you enjoy looking at it!

Sweet Monkey Mafia Lords, this is some of the best Doctor Horrible fanart that I've seen. I am honestly in awe of you...I don't know anyone that could come up with something on this level in a single day of procrastination panic. Bravo.

HOLY SMOKES, this is intensely EPIC. The coloring, the shading, the way you got their faces down and the WAFTING SMOKE. And awww man, poor Billy. Simply fantastic work!!

I'm glad you loved it, cause I loved doing it. XD Although I realised afterwards that you didn't want anything too angsty, and this is SORT of angsty, or at least mixed feelings. So yeah. I'm glad that wasn't a big problem. ^^

Man, whoever you are, you are some kind of crazy BEAST of awesome. I mean. SERIOUSLY.

A bunch of people have already pointed out tons of great things about this (and tons more will still do so, I'm sure) so I'll try to be unique in saying I LOVE the smoke effect. It's so beautiful and silky and perfect in the way it brings your whole composition together. Once you are no longer a Secret Santa I might coming around for tips on how you created that effect, if it's okay with you!

Smoke effect:
Just googled for some smoke pictures like this (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii171/ray125_2008/Smoke.jpg) (black background is vital), and, in Photoshop, put it on a 'screen' layer on top. And used the transform->warp effect to shove it around a bit to make it fit the composition. And then just some layer duplication and erasing bits (over the faces, and places I didn't want it to cover).

That's all there is to it! ^^

Oh, such pretty lighting effects on his face and hand. I love his intense expression.

The fumes are beautiful, and the glassware, too. The colours in the lower section, particularly, are striking!
