Ahaha I know nothing about this fandom (is this a real musical or is someone just really into the game of chess?) but this is really cool and very nicely done. Fantastic work, I love your colouring!

It IS a real musical, yes. About chess players. Set at a chess championship (or two -- this depends on the version). It's great. And kinda cracky. XD

AHHH. Did you know, I don't think I have ever gotten Chess fanart from anyone? I've got fics, happily, but congratulations, you are the first ever to draw me Chess. Which makes me intensely happy, because it's one of my more passionate fandoms which... is tiny and has so little fic and art.

Whee! I'm so glad you like it! We share a number of interests, but I saw your Chess prompt and immediately had this idea. I love the music, have seen 3 different productions and still have the souvenir booklets, and with the constantly changing plot, I could imagine a happier Freddie/Florence number in the show.

The little picture of Freddie holding the chess piece is based on a picture in one of my souvenir boolets, of Freddie passing his notebook to Anatoly in Bangkok *g*

It's just so gorgeous and complex and rich and detailed, I love how beautifully laid-out it is, just like a brochure page. The characters are so fantastically painted, and I love love love the detailing and colouring background statues, as well as the broken chessboard squares in the top corner. It's all so cleverly done! Amazing, superb work.

This is awesome! The composition is amazing- I like how it's laid out to mimic a pamphlet page, and I love the way the couple is mirrored against the statues. That, and the details and faces and everything are amazing.

Thank you! It was a fun challenge. I hoped the mirrored couple would look like a stage publicity photo, to fit in with the souvenir booklet concept (and I've collected a few of those to use from various productions to use for inspiration)
