Giftart for Tingirl!

Title: Granny Weatherwax's New Pet?
Gift for: [livejournal.com profile] tingirl
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] agirlnamedrage
Rating:: G
Fandom: Discworld (x-over with The Dark Crystal)
Characters: Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, Magrat Garlick, Greebo and Fizzgig
Artist notes: I love the Witches myself, and I love how both cuddly and feral Greebo and Fizzgig both are! I know that Kira owns Fizzgig in The Dark Crystal, and that Granny receives a kitten from Tiffany Aching in the future ("You"), but well. Imagine this happens in a place where there's a dimension rip, even before the coven changes. Created with pencil on tea-stained paper, and Photoshop CS2, with amateur skills. I hope you like it [personal profile] tingirl! ^___^
Summary: Granny's as unshakable as usual; Nanny's quite sure Greebo doesn't mean Granny's new adoptee any harm-- but Magrat is suspicious: is that really a cat? Greebo is... well, Greebo is Greebo.

I love the tea-stained paper! Nice way to add some color and dimension to this piece. That said, I know nothing about Discworld. lol But I really like your use of media, their expressions, and the colors.

Really cute idea! :) I love the blonde witch's expression (I should read more Discworld, then I'd know which she is), and Fizzgig is adorable, of course. Nice work!

I'm not all that familiar with Discworld but I really like this piece and your use of the tea stained paper. It adds a nice texture and undertone to the drawing.

A lovely portrait :) I version of this made with old regular water colors instead of photoshop would be nice, though. Maybe later?

I know nothing about either canon, but the tea-stained paper is a very nice touch, and your drawing style is really cute. :3

I really love the expressions on their faces - so much character. Granny Weatherwax is practically looking FOND (perhaps of the impressive size of Fizzgig's teeth *g) and Nanny Ogg is exactly as I picture her (that slightly naughty glint)

Magrat's expression is probably my favorite. Very expressive and very her.

Eee wonderfully expressive and so very in character! :D

Awww, this is so cute! I love Magrat's expression, and I love Greebo too.

I love how well you've detailed the different postures of each woman, from willowy Magrat to distinguished Granny to cosy Nanny. I don't even know who they are and I feel like I know them. And the pets -- priceless! I keep looking at that middle thing and laughing hysterically. I LOVE IT. Great job!!

THANK YOU!

FIZZGIG! YOU DID FIZZGIG! SQUEEEE!

Ahem. Excuse me. This comment is late enough without me flying all over the room. Finals ate my brain-- forgive me?

I love the crossover! I love he stylization, and then colors-- Magrat's unwitchlike mustardy color, Nanny's brown...great stuff! And the brush-stroke look on the hats, and solid computer color over the pencils..on a technique basis alone, fascinating! Thank you so much for this!

Beautiful! The orange... critter is beyond hilarious, and I love how expressive their faces are and the texture of the paper and the trope of maiden, matron, and crone.

[identity profile] zarahemla.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha, I love this! Especially Granny's smile, like, "Yes, I do have a cat in my arms. Got something to say about it?"

[identity profile] petronelle.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooo, Granny and Nanny's faces are *perfect.*

Haha! It's just too cute! I love that crazy looking puffball thing held by the middle witch and the little scarred cat, reaching out to paw it! A little story within a great story! It's fantastic. XD
