Thank you! And iirc, he polishes it all the time in the series. (Though my mind went to the bad euphemism place when I first thought to draw "Temeraire polishing his jewelry" so he just looks... *G*)

Hee hee! What a pretty necklace, Temeraire! :D

Thank you very much, anonymous artist! What a nice choice of subject. You even did a background! Something about the way those mountains are colored is especially appealing.

PS: I would love the print res version after the reveal. Temeraire on my wall would be so cool!

I'm glad you liked the drawing. I've uploaded the huge high-res version (4904x3496, 1848k) to my LJ gallery:
http://pics.livejournal.com/ratcreature/pic/000ekzad

(I myself have sometimes problems to get large images to download completely from the LJ Scrapbook, so if this doesn't work for you for some reason, you could give me an email address and I'd mail the image.)

Thank you very much! It downloaded just fine :)

Ooh, nice! I like the realism of the medallion and the rocks, and the dragon has real personality in its face and pose!

Dragons are a lot of fun to draw. (And I'm just glad my recipient didn't ask for ships or Napoleonic war uniforms or such...I'd have been hopelessly lost then. *g*)

Awesome dragon bling you got there, Temeraire! Heh, fun pic!

Very nice! Great job on Temeraire (lovely draconic anatomy ;)), and on the background as well. Very dramatic and classic. This is random, but I'm impressed with your rocks (they look properly rock-like, hard planed and occasionally jagged . . . something I have difficulty with).

Thank you, I'm glad you like how Temeraire looks. I find it quite hard to fit six limbs "realistically" onto one dragon, so it's great to hear it worked. As for the rocks, I don't draw nature often and had trouble with them myself, so mostly I just followed the instructions on drawing rocks from the chapter of Jack Hamm's book "Drawing Scenery: landscapes and seascapes" which turned out very useful for me.

*g* I like your Temereraire, particularly his pose. He is so proud of that jewel.
ratcreature: RatCreature is enthusiastic: Yay! (yay!)

Thank you for commenting, it's great to hear that his attachment to his treasure came through.

Wow, such a nice piece! I love the background, the pendant, and his body and face.

YAY ROCK! I have no idea how to draw rock, AHAHAH. So it's always so lovely to see well-drawn rock. And then take notes. ;D I love that the dragon totally has a personality, that is so different and original (to me)!

Thank you, and I'm glad that Temeraire's personality comes through. As for the rock, I don't draw nature often and have trouble with it too, so I just more or less followed the step by step advice from the chapter on mountains and rocks from Jack Hamm's book "Drawing Scenery: landscapes and seascapes", because I was too lazy to look at real rocks and then try and figure out how to make a drawing look like that. I'm thrilled to hear this tactic worked! (I kind of suck at drawing from nature in general, probably lack of practice, so I went the "drawing nature for dummies" route rather than the "proper" way of observing things...*G*)

Ooh, I love the way the clouds and mountain echo the dragon-shape. Composition FTW!

I'm glad you like the clouds, I don't draw nature all that often. BTW, that shape thing you noticed was totally unintentional. *g*
