Title: Freestyle rap battle GO!
By: Melisus
For: Calamari
Media Used: India ink with sumi ink wash on bristol board, edited in GIMP
Rating: G
Fandom(s): Pacific Rim
Warnings: None
Summary: I think the Wei Tang brothers would be really into the Chinese hip-hop scene when not shooting some hoops or punching giant aliens in the face. All three rap in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, though they rap mostly in Chinese. They've also dabbled in hip-hop dance. They like to switch off unexpectedly while rapping, trying to become as in-sync as possible while out of the drift to become a more unified team.
Notes: I tried to keep the ink wash fast and loose, though unfortunately my pen wasn't letting me do the same with the linework. Their outfits are based on what they wear in the film, though since I couldn't get any good refs for the jacket emblems I had to leave them blank. I did the initial sketch on ordinary printer paper and did the inking over a lightbox with India ink and a dip nib pen, then did the ink wash over that with red and black Sumi ink with two different brush sizes. Some mistakes were made so I did a few edits in GIMP :---------------D

I really like this idea! I loved Pacific Rim and, yes, this would probably be very much in character for the brothers. The colors are so intense, love them :)

Not my fandom but this is really cool. Their bodylanguate is particularly nice.

Love the vibrant colours! The loose ink really works with the style of this piece.
And I enjoyed the back story you've given too. As soon as I read it, I could just see their in-sync rapping.
