2012 Wrap-Up and Feedback Post

Hello again everyone,

What a fantastic exchange we've had! After having taken last year off and making such big changes in how the exchange is run, the mods weren't sure what sort of reception we'd have this year, but 2012 has turned out to be one of our very best, in no small part due to all of our amazing artists. Thank you to everyone who participated, whether it be via the main exchange, contributing stocking stuffers or weekly challenge pieces, or simply just being a cheerleader for our artists! Special mention goes to [personal profile] scoutassimilator, who contributed not only two pieces for the main exchange, but SIX stocking stuffers!

Now that the exchange has drawn to a close, we'd really appreciate your feedback on any or all of the following, as it will help us better plan the exchange in coming years:
  • What did you think of the overall changes to how the exchange was run this year? (In particular, we'd like to know what you thought of the new sign-up and matching process.)

  • What are your thoughts on the addition of stocking stuffers and/or weekly challenges?

  • Would you be interested in taking part in a summer edition of the exchange in addition to the regular holiday session? (May-August)

Thank you again to everyone! Have a wonderful 2013 and we'll see you next fall!

Cheers,
Your Yuletart Mods ([personal profile] alchemy, [personal profile] glockgal and [personal profile] rural_juror)

First thank you guys for doing this again this year. It's my favorite of all the fests :) (and I'm so behind on commenting though 0.0)

I enjoyed the additions a good deal. They added another level of fun, so I hope the stay.

I missed the anonymous nature of the gift givers, but it it was easier on y'all than I don't mind. The sign up process worked fine so if that worked for y'all keep it :)

Over all great fun and the changes were fine . Looking forward to next fall!

I love Yuletart, and I was really happy that you ran it again this year. I thought the sign-up and matching process worked well. I never manage to do stocking stuffers and other extras, but they were fun to see.

I'd probably participate in a summer exchange too.

I took part for the first time so can't compare with past years, sorry! But I thought it was heaps of fun and all worked very well. It prompted me into something of an art blow-out, which I very much enjoyed. The weekly challenges and ability to do stocking stuffers on all the left-over prompts was a great idea (so hard to choose!).
Only thing I wished was that recipients would comment on the DW comm and not just reblog from tumblr. But then, I have a love-hate relationship with tumblr and I know that an art fest needs to be on tunblr as well, these days.
Yes, I'd be up for a summer exchange. Thanks for your hard work organizing us all!

I'm so glad you guys organised yuletart this year. It was heaps of fun to participate and I enjoyed all the lovely art. Almost the best thing is to discover new artists and fandoms :) Thanks again mods and fellow artists!

First, thank you so much! Running this has got to be a TON of work and I really appreciate every minute of it! I'm behind on my artist's feedback--was doing OK right up until a few days before Christmas...

I liked the matching process and sign-up process, and I always love having more art, so the extras were way fun. My holiday season kind of exploded, so I didn't have time or wherewithal to do the extras, but more art, yay!

I would definitely be interested in a summer edition--might actually have enough time to do the extras then. When I was in college, we had Christmas in summer every year, because summertime we had both money and time--December was pre-loan/grant arrival, and mid-exams, so it was just more fun to do Christmas in July or August. The difference isn't quite as dramatic these days, but I definitely have more time in the summer... :D

Thank you so much for hosting it. This was so much fun and I'd definitely sign up for a summer one too!
