Artist notes: I was delighted to have this pairing as an option! I don't know why I don't draw more Bebop fanart and particularly art of these two. I love Spike and Julia's relationships and the overtones it casts over Spike's entire existence. I really could have done more with them, but I also wanted a simple sentiment. Just seeing the two together is powerful enough to me.
Summary: Spike and Julia have such a tragic love. As a couple seem doomed from the beginning! For that reason, I favor the pairing over Spike and Faye, just because the star crossed and lost lovers is so dynamic. Though the overall tone in this image is somber, I wanted there to be some warmth and comfort evident. The two hold hands, though they can never truly be together. Julia gathers her coat closer for comfort. Spike peers out of his left eye (the real one that he claims can only see the past). Haha;;; I always feel so fake when I explain the deeper meaning of my illustrations. All the same, I wish you a happy holiday! I hope you'll stop by my journal (if for nothing else than to ask me why this was a particular adventure to color XD )

Lovely! I love the deep, tragic colors on the figures. (And that's the exact right shade of color for Spike's hair - it's got the green from the anime without making it comically green.)

They are so much angsty! And I dunno how you managed to do so much angst amidst so many pretty and bright and gorgeous colours, but you did! Their expressions just say it all. They're holding hands! So very cute and such a great style. *LOVE!*

I love the colors and the shading in this - it's very vibrant, without looking cartoonish. It suits the show and the mood of the characters very well! Plus, Julia fanart is so rare, I'm always glad to come across it!
