I'm in LOVE with the dark, dramatic lighting in the first image. It's almost touchable.

I also love the coloring and the period outfit from head to toe in the second one.

Thank you! Phryne loves pretty outfits, so doing an art-deco fashion-plate-style painting seemed appropriate for her (plus I love period clothes, too *g*)

Those are both marvelous. The Fire Emblem one in particular I find amazing since the blasted figures in the game are microscopic (trying to make a Heroine cosplay costume mutter, mutter, mutter) - I love the way you did their garb, and their pose, and their expressions. It's just gorgeous. The Phryne Fischer one is perfect!

Thank you - and yes I found that out when looking for reference images! Thankfully the promotional artwork is pretty and showed one side of their costume (not so great for cosplay but helpful for art *g*)

Lea, who can't log on until tomorrow, is absolutely squeaking with joy :)

(and thank you so much for this info. I was waiting anxiously for her reaction!)

Both pictures are so impressive, and in such different ways too. I adore the lighting and the coloring in the first-- it's very dramatic and you can really feel the tension crackling in the air <3. AND I JUST WANT THE OUTFIT IN THE SECOND ONE. The cape! The winged hat and booties! All that delicious and darling detailing, unf.

*g* Thank you! I had fun with the colours and lighting in the first picture - and I adore period clothes, so I had to paint Phryne in one of her spiffy outfits.

Wow. This is just....so amazing, I'm speechless. Thank you sooo, sooo much, I adore both of this images, and both of them are ones I wasn't expecting to get. I love them.
...just...wow...

Thank you for the prompts! I'm so glad you like them. They are not my usual style but I enjoyed the challenge of trying something new - plus I love historical costumes so I adored the excuse to paint Phryne.

I love the second one. Her outfit is gorgeous and the style is just perfect for the subject.

Thank you! I tried to base the style on the fashion plates of Georges Barbier (who did brilliant art deco illustrations)so that it would look suitably period.

Love the colors in the first one. They're low light but they're not dull. looks awesome. I love the second pic. Her outfit is just amazing and I love her face. Great work!

I've been playing around with low light lighting and colour recently so Thank you!

Ooooh the first one is so moody and dark, I love the atmosphere, it's all just to epic. Their expressions and postures definitely tell a story of tension and emotion between them. I love the detailing on their clothes!

And the second one is just gorgeous. Her outfit is simply divine and everything about it is very 1920's!

Thanks! I love anime styled art but eep, I find it hard to draw. I kept having to add elements of my usual style to try to get the emotions I wanted.

And an opportunity to do some 1920s fashion - how could I resist *g*

OMG, Phryne! I love her outfit, especially those amazing winged shoes. Very elegant :D

I love your icon, and the fact that you know Phryne makes me very happy! The shoes and the winged hat sounded so cute in the description. I just had to pick that outfit to draw.

The first one is great and atmospheric and awesome but the second that blows me away!
I love the intricate details of the dress combined with the simpler background, and the juxtaposition between the figure and the poster and just WOW. It's the kind of thing I'd be an art book for!

Thank you! I can't make any claims to the style since I tried to emulate Georges Barbier, who did absolutely gorgeous art deco fashion plates in the early 20th century. Having a 1920s fashion-loving character was such a great excuse to paint something in this style *g*
