Happy Yuletart, mawaridi!

Title: "No, like this..."
Gift for: [livejournal.com profile] mawaridi
Artist:  [livejournal.com profile] darthsappho
Rating: G
Fandom: Harry Potter
Warnings: Deformed attempts at faces by a very amateur artist may disturb.
Artist's Notes: This is my first attempt at drawing characters from a book - I hope you like it. I guess I could have used the movies as reference, but I prefer not to see them as definitive. Would have liked to have done Morgana & Morgause, but since I'm about a year behind in watching the show, it would have been a bit too spoilery for me. Pastel on black paper.
Summary: After blackmailing Hermione into helping with her Charms revision, Pansy finds the lesson unexpectedly pleasant...

Pastels are the bomb.

I love the bookcase and the swirly magic.

I love it! It's so dark and moody, and I love all the details; the folds of their robes, the books in the bookcase, the stone wall, Crookshanks (hee!) and the starry landscape outside, and the swirl of sparkly magic from Pansy's wand. And of course the girls :D Pansy's expression is just perfect. I like that you didn't go with movie faces - I love the movies, but the actors aren't how I see the characters in my head. I love seeing other people's interpretations of the characters (especially Pansy, who doesn't get as much description in the books anyway).

Thank you so much, mystery artist, I love it!

Ooh, what a sexy pose! And I like the swirly magic sparkles and the composition.

I like how you did the lighting and the swirly magic. The book case is nicely done as well. I love how you put titles on every one. I would have gotten bored after three...

Also, femslash = ♥. :D

This is excellent pastel work! Love the lighting and the background and Hermione's wand hand!

Awwww they're adorable! I love how Pansy is the one who's all "ooooh!" closed-eyes and breathless, while Hermione smilingly tutors her in more her own personal charms. XD So cute!! Loooove your school robes design, the clasp on Pansy's collar and AHAHAH YAY CROOKSHANKS. Always there to unpleasantly monitor the goings ons. *hee!*

I really like the way you've done the stone of the wall. And of course the bookcase is wonderful, all those books with their little detailed spines. I really love how you did the swirl of magic too, it looks great!
