Awww, this is adorable! :D I love the layers ... the sweet cuddling picture, and the implied distance and melancholy that goes with the way she seems to be randomly picking it up out of a pile of less personal items (calendar, newspaper) ... also, the AA meeting bit is a good personal touch.
