Sign-Ups 2010
Important Dates
September 20 - October 10: Sign-ups. We will not accept applications after October 11 midnight (12:00 AM), Pacific Time. After you sign up, you will receive a validation email from the Yuletart Mods to ensure your email address is correct and operational. You must respond to this email by October 14.
October 11: Any remaining validation emails will be sent by the end of the day.
October 13: Deadline for replying to your validation email. If you do not reply to your validation email before the end of the day, you risk not being included in the fest. Once we receive your reply, we will comment here to your sign-up form letting you know you have been confirmed.
October 20: Assignments handed out no later than this date.
Important Points About Signing Up
- The Set List has now been created. Please specify what your preference is for any umbrella fandoms that have many sub-categories. This will help your gift-giver know what to draw for you.
Example 1:
Star Trek (The Next Generation and Deep Space 9)
Example 2:
Marvel Comics (Iron Man movie, Runaways, Generation-X, Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon)
Example 3:
Music RPF (The Beatles, U2) - For ALL fandoms, please spell out the fandom name rather than using acronyms! THIS INCLUDES BAND NAMES.
- Additionally, remember that the more information you can give in your "special requests" section, the better. This is where you would designate specific characters, ships, etc. More info helps us make more appropriate assignments.
- Remember that Yuletart is about the joy of creating art together, not about who is "best" or "most perfect." You should not only be able to put forth your very best effort, but be able to appreciate the effort of others regardless of their level of skill. We know that "effort" is a very subjective concept, so for our purposes we're defining it as an art or craft that has gone through at least one rough draft, gotten objective advice from a third party, and then edited into a final, more polished work. (Note: Mom and Dad probably aren't going to be objective about your art. If you can't find an objective beta, try
artbeta. The artists there are patient, generous and willing to work with all skill levels. You can even ask for one-on-one help via email.)
- If you have questions or need clarification, please ask them HERE.
Sign-Ups are now CLOSED

Have you participated in this fest before? y/n:
Yes, in 2008 and 2009!
If yes, did you have a Gift-giver Artist in 2009?
Yes! They were awesome and drew me Discworld fanart. I love you, Yuletart artist!
If yes, what was their name?
...But I don't remember your name. Please don't take it personally! I don't remember my name either! I once got locked out of LJ for a month because I couldn't remember my own login! It's a problem, I'm working on it, but I rememeber the fanart!

PG 13, probably. I like my fanart unsexy, really.
Specific requests:(Artists are NOT required to use these!)
I'd love to see art of the Skeksies or Mystics or other animals from Dark Crystal, Appa, Momo or the riderbirds from Avatar, pretty much any characters from Nightmare Before Christmas. Ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggity beasties, creatures and companions and pets!
I'd also love to see anything with the Kiyoshi Warriors from Avatar, or the Podlings from Dark Crystal. Yay, background characters!
From Discworld and Oz Books and Escaflowne and the others, any characters should be fine-- they're all visually fascinating! I just love oddities and rarely-seen things over main characters and standard scenes.
