Remind me: What are the Fandom Nominations?

yuletart is holding Fandom Nominations to determine which fandoms will make it onto our Set List (see FAQ). By doing so, we hope to ensure that fandoms nominated will also reflect fandoms requested.

So where is the Set List?

The Set List is HERE. These fandoms do NOT need to be nominated again.

Who can make/support Fandom Nominations?

Only past participants from Yuletart may participate in the fandom nominations process.

How do I make Fandom Nominations?

Fill out the form provided below and comment to this post. Each participant can nominate a maximum of three fandoms.

This is done on a per fandom basis. One comment per fandom! Any comment with multiple fandoms listed will be deleted and you'll be asked to re-submit each separately.

PAST PARTICIPANTS: The mods will determine which fandoms nominated will end up on the Set List.

So I can nominate anything I want?

Please limit your nominations to only those fandoms you are seriously intending to request at Yuletart. This will hopefully help keep the fandoms offered and the fandoms requested fairly similar.

Someone has already nominated the fandom I wanted. What do I do?

Reply to the nomination with your support! The more support a nom gets, the more likely it'll end up on the final Set List. There is no limit to how many "seconds" you can give.

If we spot accidental repeat noms, to keep things tidy we'll delete the repeat.

How can I increase the chances of getting my nominations on the Set List?

If you really want your fandom nominations to end up on the set list, encourage other participants to support your nomination by replying to your nomination comment! The more people who support a nomination, the more the mods will know that it's a popular/requestable fandom.

Again, nomination support can ONLY be made by past Yuletart participants. We cannot allow non-participants at this juncture.

The fandom I want to nominate is the book version, not the movie version, or is a sub-fandom of a larger category. How can I ensure that people know that?

We will have the fandom in general (ie, Marvel Comics, music RPF) in the Set List. During sign-ups, you are free to specify which version you prefer (ie, Marvel Comics: movieverse only, music RPF: The Beatles).

During fandom nominations, there's no need to be specific.

REGARDING THE CREATION OF NEW UMBRELLA CATEGORIES: The above applies to existing umbrella categories only. We accept new umbrella categories as nominations only if the collective works are understood to be linked or existing within the same universe. We cannot create an umbrella category, for example, of all of the work of the same film director unless all of said director's work is understood to be connected. Example: We cannot accept "Kevin Smith" as a category, but could accept "View Askewniverse" as a category.

On rare occasions, the mods will create an umbrella category like "music RPF" or "Shakespeare" for administrative purposes, but for the most part the above guidelines will apply.
