Gosh, this is pretty. I second the contrast appreciation - your choice of background coloring is perfect with his tattoos (?); it really makes them pop. You've made his eyes all but glow, too - very arresting. And the dark, rich background combines with his expression/posture to give a marvelous sense of mood. Lovely!

One of the things I really like about Nocturne (and DDS, too, come to think of it) is the influence of the environment on the game. It's really hard to separate the characters from that post-apocalyptic gloom, and it's really nice to see it coming into effect here. I also have to give thumbs up to anyone willing to draw the Demifiend's tattoos; they have to be one of the neatest character design aspects I've come across. :>
