Ooh, nice. It's so hard to do pencils and make them look crisp and lovely and interesting when they're scanned in. I know nothing about Discworld, but I love the interesting face, and the lengthy, strained pause and uncomfortable, shifting emotion. Just fantastic.
ratcreature: Heh. RatCreature is amused. (heh.)

I don't know Discworld, but I really like the sequence of expressions here.

Eeee, Rincewind! Excellent lips in the last one (that's randomly what I liked most...) Heeee. His expressions are very... right. ♥

:D So much fun, I can see the process of thought! What a young handsome (for him) Rincewind, too - although I did always get the impression he was much younger in the early books.

I love the series of expressions. I find it doubly awesome because I always have trouble keeping characters looking consistent XD, and you've done so flawlessly :3

I don't know of discworld but i love the drawings! The shading is so good :)

I'm another non-Discworld person, but I wanted to comment on how beautiful your artwork is. The eyes are so alive! And the faces are so perfectly realistic. :)

Agh, gorgeous! I've never seen a Rincewind I liked better! *salute*

I love the way you've set this whole piece up, with the excerpt and then the trio of expressions. You have a beautiful style and it meshes with the wackiness of the Discworld folk perfectly :)

BWAH HA HA HA!

Fabulous job capturing that poor bastard in the face of Vetinari! You did a stupendous job with his facial hair. Thank you for such a funny and well-drawn picture!

This is awesome. Lovely shading and really expressive faces. You can just see his mind sloooowly ticking along before giving the wrong(?) answer.. XD

Much win! I highly approve!

So much win for Discworld! I really like the incorporation of the text with the pictures, and the progression of his facial expressions. You perfectly captured that "aaaawkward" moment. Your pencil work is really nice, too. The hatching works really well.

*snerk* This made me giggle. A lot. Lovely work.

*snerk* Oh man, this is fantastic. Your art is beautiful and detailed . . . I love the style and the shading both. (And your design for him! The nose, the scraggly beard!) And, well, the facial expressions--the whole point of the piece!--are superb and well-paced.

Oh, Rincewind is love. :)

Amazing job! I LOVE your drawings. So expressive and perfectly shaded. I'm really in awe - I wish i was half as good at sketching and pencilling.

Wow, you really have great pencil technique! I love his expressions and the way you've illustrated this scene. Great piece.

[identity profile] glockgal.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
The expressions are so fantastic and from what little I know of Discworld (ie, a BBC Christmas special called 'The Hogfather', the way you drew him fits so so incredibly well. I love his hat, and the sktching techniques used to shade his face and just. Everything!

You know, even if you hadn't included the backgroundy text, I would *still* have gotten the thought process going on there. Because it's brilliant! What a fresh, engaging, and cheeky idea!

[identity profile] elynross.livejournal.com 2008-01-21 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, this is great! I really love the style of it!

*giggles madly* Oh that's just perfect! That sequence of expressions is fabulous.
