I love the smudgy, Neo-Impressionistic quality to it -- it's softness with a blade-like edge, and works well with the modern dimensions. I don't know anything about this canon, but the colors you chose are fantastically underused for dramatic effect, and you pulled it off marvelously.

Fwaaa, there's so much I love about this. Love the dreamlike, dabbed on watercoloury look of the painting style, it's marvelous. Love the tall composition, like I have to scroll up to see him, or scroll down to see how high a precipice he's on. It's great either way! Love the stylistic rendering of the character, with his beanpole limbs and thin, dynsmic silhouette. Love ESPECIALLY the use of my favourite complementary colours, purple and yellow. GYAH IT WORKS SO WELL IN THIS. Fantastic, fantastic!

Thank you for the lovely comments! I think part of the effect comes from the soft work with the colour and the hard lines still present in the image, though the lines have been muted some through colour work to prevent them from being too striking. To even get a proper artist movement mentioned with something I've done is very flattering--in retrospect, you are right! I'm glad that it worked to good effect with the subject matter. :)

Purple and yellow are some of my favourite complementary colours as well. They keep sneaking into to things somehow... *shady*

I'm glad the tall composition works out to help emphasize the effect! I was a bit worried it'd be too much to see--the full size version of this image is even worse about it, but it might be interesting to see if others also feel it helps with the image!

I am pleased as a pear that such subtle emotional tones managed to come through. Originally this piece was going to be much more complex, very nostalgic, and then it changed as I was working on it, but I think a bit of that managed to stay behind.

Thank you! His pose fought me a bit, but having more then one pair of eyes always helps out, I found. <3 I'm pleased it managed to keep it's dynamic well with a balance between the negative/positive space without seeming too empty.

I was worried that it would be a little monochrome at first, but the colours seem to be working out for folks!

Lelouche's expressions are surprisingly hard to balance between 'silly grinning' and 'I smirk at you for soon you will be my peon'. I'm glad it works!
