Title: Monstrous Watch Gift for:kasche Artist:hyel Rating:: G Fandom: Discworld Characters: Vimes, Reg Shoe, Sally, Angua Warnings: slight spoiler for Thud! Summary: A portrait of Vimes and a few of his interesting guardsmen.
Discworld Guards, yay! I like the poses, the expressions on their faces and the shadow in the background. Reg makes me laugh (his wave!) and I really like your Vimes.
Heee I have no idea of this fandom/series, but this is so entertaining! I love the detailing of their guard outfits and the wolf! I want to pet and then ride it! I'm sure it wouldn't let me, but I can dream. ;D
Oh, kickass! I haven't caught up in Discworld enough to be familiar with all of the characters, but they all look fantastic . . . I particularly love the Igor (Reg Shoe?)'s expression and pose. This is a really well put-together group shot, too; great composition all around.
Ooh, the wolf is fantastic. I don't know Discworld at all, but all three of the humanesque guards look so individually awesome, the goofiness of the zombie, the sexiness of the vampire and the pure energy and intelligence of the leader. Really a great pic that makes me want to give the series a try, if only to find out who these people are!
Hahahaha! Oh god, THANK YOU for this - it's brill. :D I love Sam, Reg is perfect (oh, that little wave kills me), Sally really is too! That's a look that really works for her, and wolf!Angua! That mustn't have been easy ;) I love the shadows, too - this is a really fun portrait. :D Thank you so much for it!
Reg Shoe is a zombie :D You can find out more about how it happens in Night Watch. ;) In Sam Vimes' own words: "He's dead. However, credit where it's due, he hasn't let that stop him." I loved that little bit. ;P
Thanks! It's an easy cheat when you can just take the outline, fill and stretch and put it in transparent, in a simple pic with no background like this one.
Discworld is... Well, I love it to pieces, so I wouldn't be impartial, but it's funny and clever and insightful. Deeply recommended. It's got about a gazillion books in it and you kind of need a diagram (http://www.lspace.org/books/reading-order-guides/the-discworld-reading-order-guide-1-5.jpg) to read it right... If you're interested, I'd suggest NOT starting with the first one written (the first in the Rincewind series) because the style really matures from the straightforward RPG parody of The Colour of Magic. La!
I know this is a total sales speech but I still have to mention that Hogfather has been filmed as a TV miniseries and they're currently filming The Colour of Magic. Okay I'm done now. :D
Discworld is awesome or at least I love it a lot. It started out as a fantasy/RPG parody, but ended up making fun of just about everything in human nature, and making some pretty good observations thereof in the process - and the (thousands of) characters are fantastic.
Reg Shoe the zombie is so funny - he's a spokesperson for undead rights, and is often seen wearing a badge that says "Glad to be Grey" or "Undead yes - unperson no!" The teen vampire is a fairly late addition to the cast, and was mainly there to bounce the werewolf off (featured in her wolf-form), but she's fun to draw. :D And Vimes. God. You have to read the books. He goes from a loser to SUCH a winner in the space of a couple of books.
Ahem. Yes. I kind of fangirl. :D

*blink* That's actually very helpful...
Okay, so can I start with "Guards Guards" and move from there?
